Since 1989, I have never been bored while working for various companies on a wide variety of projects at the software, device, system and product level. CM is always an exciting and promising topic, whether in the automotive industry, in simulation projects, in the defense sector or in aerospace programs such as Typhoon, Tornado or drones (UAVs, Unmanned Air Vehicles).

Definition of configuration management
Configuration management (CM) provides the transparency required for effectiveness and efficiency in product development. To this end, data such as specifications, circuit diagrams, parts lists, material requirements, etc., as well as the description of methods and processes, are documented in a professionally and technically consistent manner.
CM also describes all change processes across the entire Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): whenever new configurations are developed, reviewed for impact, tested, released and finally implemented.
CM therefore not only knows the current construction status of a product, but also ensures traceability in product engineering at all times as well as traceability in the sense of consumer protection.
